As we recently did a post titled Summer of Sun, and this post is all about summer skincare and makeup...we cleverly decided that we would do a little series of posts related to all things summer and sun related, so this is post #2 in our 'Summer Series'.

Whether you're enjoying the sun here in England or sunning yourself abroad it's important to choose the right skincare to protect your skin and the right make-up to show off that tan and with the endless products out there we thought we would show you the essentials.

Sun protection on your face is still important to use even when the suns not out that's why most foundations out there today contain at least SPF 10 in them. This is good because it is a face SPF and a BB cream all in one handy product. Great if you don't want the heavy, full coverage feel of a foundation.

French skincare brand La Roche Posay also have a great range of sun protection products with added skincare benefits and are brilliant for sensitive or intolerant skin types.

The mother of all highlighters, Diorskin Poudre Shimmer in Rose Diamond. If you have a tan the last thing you want to do is wear a heavy pink blush with loads of shimmer added to it. This highlighter contains a beautiful iridescent shimmer with a slight rose pink colour running through it, subtle enough to wear with a tan.

Estee Lauder's 2013 summer edition of Bronze Goddess is inspired by the warmth of the Mediterranean, a citrus floral blend with notes of Bergamot and Orange Blossom. The Elpromotions team thinks this smells like coconut and holiday in a bottle, like being transported to a tropical island..... Oh how we wish...

Keep checking back for post #3 of our Summer Series!

Us girls are all so guilty of buying too many bags (and shoes!), but we can only blame the shops for making so many of the annoyingly beautiful things.

With that in mind, we have put together a collection of the finest bags in shops at the moment.
Bank balances beware.

How amazing is this Crocodile City bag from Zara. We can't quite believe that it is only £39.99! It looks a lot more expensive than it is and it can be a perfect day bag with it's long strap or evening bag if you hide the strap in the bag. The pop of pink will add a little edge to your outfit.

This All Saints Python Tote looks roomy enough to carry everything plus more and is perfect for the office or to take travelling. It also comes in two other designs, so now you're spoilt for choice.

Our Designer pick is courtesy of Celine. Being many celebrities arm candy of choice, this particular style comes in all different colours, shapes and sizes and let me tell you, we love each and every one of them.

Any clutch bag which could also double up as a make-up bag we love! This one by Zadig & Voltaire is absolutely gorgeous and has embossed skull detailing on the front. The nude colour means it can be worn with any outfit.

It is that time of the year when we have to get our thinking caps on and think up ideas of what to get those lovely father's of ours for Father's Day. What do you get them?..clothes?...toiletries?...a handkerchief???

It seems to be much easier to buy for our Mum's on Mother's Day than for our Dad's on Father's Day which is why we have cleverly put together a few things in case you get stuck on what to buy for him.

Zara have put together a cleaver little section on their website which is sort of like a Father's Day gift guide and we have a few of our favourites below.

Image 2 of DOUBLE COLLAR BLAZER from Zara

We know a smart and fashionable dad would appreciate this grey double collar blazer, which we also know comes in black.

Or if your dad prefers something a little more casual then we think he would love this colour block polo shirt.

Any gadget loving dad would love this. Now he can show off his barbecue-ing skills.

Or if you prefer to get your dad a good ol' aftershave, then we recommend this one. Trust us, it smells amazing!

Of course there's nothing wrong with getting your dad a handkerchief, but some other gifts we would get our dads are, a wallet, cuff-links or a laptop case and alcohol always goes down well - excuse the pun.

The sun is shining so it's only right we do a blog post dedicated to summer and holiday fashion for you. (If you are a reader from outside of the UK, we don't tend to see the sun a lot in the UK so when we do it is a big thing for us and we like to shout about it!)

Green Leaf Longline Bikini

If you are on holiday this summer or just want to sunbathe in your garden, we all know you want a fashionable bikini even if it only you that will see it. This fruity number from Topshop is bang on trend with its high waisted shorts and vintage style. This is something you could wear with a kaftan for an day look whilst on holiday.

If bright colours aren't your thing, this black and white bikini is perfect for you and would look amazing against sun-kissed skin.

We say pair that hat with this kaftan add some bracelets and voila, a lazy pool day look or maybe you prefer a walk on the beach?

These sandals by Black Cat Flat Sandals by CJG at Topshop can be dressed up or down for either a day or night look. As they are like jewellery on a shoe, maybe don't go overboard with the accessories.

Of course you can't forget your sunglasses. Not only are they are really important to protect your eyes from the sun but they also come in so many different styles and prints and how amazing are these from Zara! Nothing else to say on the matter.

Image 1 of STRAW COWBOY HAT from Zara

Also from Zara, this straw cowboy hat is another must to protect your hair from the sun but also is a really stylish fashion accessory. The trim on this hat turns it into something a little less boring that just a black sun hat.

Let us know what you thought of the items featured and if it has inspired you to hit the shops!
