LONDON FASHION WEEK

Was it just us or was London Fashion Week absolutely fabulous? There is definitely the pride of being British in the air following the incredible Olympics and Paralympics, and what a way to follow!
The show was full of British character, effortless style, eccentricity and sense of humour- not pompous or too serious. Here are some of our favourite collections from the inspiring show...

Mulberry were a delight, with pretty pastels and detailing. The prints were primarily floral, conjuring nostalgic imagery of summery picnics in blooming fields. There was a distinct 60s feel, also portrayed in the hair and makeup. Could this be a major trend for the spring/summer? We think so! And check out the impressive front row below- (left to right) Vanessa Kirby, Lana Del Rey, (yes! New 'do!) Kate Moss (never ages), Alexa Chung (of course!) and Rebecca Hall.

Another of our favourite collections had to be from Osman, with his colourful and vibrant East meets West take. With Japanese inspired silhouettes and fabrics, his fast-becoming-signature well cut trousers were also in full swing, with the catwalk and model's necks and wrists accessorised with a form of Japanese bondage (shibari)..ooer! And even better- we can claim a bit of homegrown glory, as an Indian haberdashery in Birmingham where his mum is based also helped provide inspiration for his collection.

Once again, Mary Katrantzou does not disappoint, with another collection of her signature graphic prints style reinvented and literally on the money, with the collection inspired by stamps and bank notes from all over the world including India; perhaps a nod to the change and rise of emerging luxury markets.

The collection on a whole had a high fashion, exquisite and futuristic feel, which we think gives Mary another huge thumbs up for her SS13 collection. Love!

Louise Gray produced another bold and eye-catching collection, with quirky makeup and an altered colour palette to spice things up. Sequins and embroidery were still a huge part of the collection, but it had a far more grown up and polished feel. With form-fitting sillhouettes, cute footwear, accessories and excellent layering, the collection was fun- exactly what we'd expect from Ms Gray!

So what were your favourites? Keep it here for further fashion week updates!  Over and out...
