Rita Britton a Fashion Icon.

Rita Britton, mother, wife and friends to many, the lady known as the queen of fashion in Barnsley. She is the history, ambition, style and the river of Barnsley that rushes through this woman’s veins and her shop ‘Pollyanna.’ I've known Rita all my life and she has always inspired me, however my passion for fashion is nothing compared to hers. She has always been the best dressed person i know either head to toe in Lanvin or mixing Prada and YSL, to you and me, it’s a casual look with an expensive edge.

Rita's fashion career began in 1967 when she took over Pollyanna in Barnsley and both have rolled with the times ever since.“At my age now, I have to make sure I’m forward-thinking and not looking backwards. One of the most exciting things for me is the website. I now sell across the world. Pollyanna started off being 100% Barnsley clients; this was before the M1 or M62. Now it’s only 3% from Barnsley. Barnsley had strong industries and so people had money to spend and when they declined the trade stopped. With word of mouth customers started travelling."

As soon as you walk in to Pollyanna you feel as if you are walking into something extraordinary.

Rita Britton had her own brand called NOMAD which has become extremely successful. It is all created in-house Atelier of Pollyanna. Nomad draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, resulting in a wide and varied selection of garments. An almost cult following of the brand proves that the pieces created are what women want from a garment, respecting all body shapes and styles.

Nomad is for women with active and hectic lives. Contemporary women have enough on their plates without having to worry about what they are going to wear to dinner. Whether you're flying in from Paris for a important breakfast appointment, arriving home from holiday in Egypt or just simply rushing back from the city to work. Nomad is designed to be convenient, comfortable and chic. However there is something unique about Nomad, it is designed to be dressed up or dressed down, all you have to do is add your lippy and earrings to your work and travel clothes which transforms into elegant evening-wear. Nomad pieces are made to order which offers you a bespoke service.

In 1993 the British Fashion Council created New Generation (NEWGEN), one of the world’s most internationally distinguished  and reputable talent identification schemes. NEWGEN showcases and promotes new designer businesses today. The scheme is sponsored by Topshop who have been supporters since 2001. This season will be the 10th anniversary celebrations of Topshop's endless backing of the scheme at London Fashion Week. Supreme celebrations will take place in February, for the ten years in which Myriad of London have taken NEWGEN designers to the top.

NEWGEN offers catwalk designers financial backing and reinforcement towards their show costs and the opportunity to use the BFC Catwalk Show Space. Others receive sponsored presentation or exhibition allowance to showcase their collections, offering an benficial debut for young UK-based designers to effective and efficacious press and buyers from around the world. NEWGEN also provides business and mentoring support through the BFC in partnership with Shoosmiths, Baker Tilley and Lloyds TSB.

"Since NEWGEN's inception, its roll call includes Alexander McQueen, Boudicca,Matthew Williamson, Julien Macdonald, Lara Bohinc, Ann-Louise Roswald and more recently Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab, Richard Nicoll, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou and Meadham Kirchhoff."

Internationally renowned and recognised as an important and impressive launch pad, this scheme is a showcase of the best up-and-coming British fashion talent. It also acts as an notable introduction for young UK-based designers to influential press and buyers from around the world. The scheme has become a fundamental draw for the international fashion media and buyers attending London Fashion Week. NEWGEN designers are among the must-see collections on schedule every season.

Chanel are on the top of their game hosting a Couture show as guests are invited to board 'private jet' catwalk runway spectacular.

A model presents a creation by German designer Karl Lagerfeld

Chanel's elaborate setting for this season's Couture show, was the Grand Palais in Paris, reconstructed and revolutionised into a private jet, complete with floor level lighting, numbered seating and a roof that revealed a faux sky. The aisle featured emergancy exits and of course, a bar cart. At the end of the show Karl emerged from the cockpit to thank his guests. Some of the passengers included Vanessa Paradis, Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Olsen and Diane Kruger. What ever the rumours and hear say you are told, this was one flight nobody wanted to disembark.

Models Alice Dellal and the Delevigne sisters flew the British Flag and also walked the runway with heiress Daphne Guinness.

This Spring/ Summer line featured sequins and beads harmonised with punk hair. This bling bling collection featured longer hemlines with many shades of fluctuating blue dominating the entire collection.

TinkerTaylor TV "are film makers, web designers and motion graphics specialists. They create eye-catching content for any screen and make your company stand out from the crowd."

Based at Fazeley Studios in Digbeth, Birmingham, they run a rather fabulous production company. All ex BBC and ex Apple workers they have joined forces with us.

There are many different business ideas they have just waiting for you. The ideas that grab the media world are. Short, punchy, promo videos which are based on a one day shoot, one or two high definition cameras, interview with client & designer, intercut with stunning footage cut to music. A Catwalk shoot, to showcase differnt fashions, ideal and optimal for a fashion designer wanting to show-case his / her latest range and trying to make a mark in the fashion industry and stand out from the crowd. It will involve and interview with the designer, intercut with stunning footage cut to music, stylish graphics and detail of the clothes. Last but not least a short, funky film, fast paced, cut to music with shots of models coming on and off backstage, make up done, hair sprayed, shoes going on, jackets coming off. Soundbites from the designer about their clothes, about the event and soundbites from the models about why they love the clothes. These videos could change your business.

Make your own mind up by listening to what other businesses think of TinkerTaylor.

Elpromotions are looking forward to an exciting 2012 with some fantastic events in the near future. Last year we were involved with many events including Clothes Show Live, London fashion week and Vitality Show in London.
Adding to the excitment and integrating our passion for fashion and designers, the Summer was spent in Ibiza promoting Usher at Ushuaia Beach hotel, the parades and beach parties and heading up the Itaca performers.
The Eva Cardona fashion show was held at KM5, with Paul Ross from Pascha jamming it really was a captivating event. KM5 Beach Promotion was also a huge success to top off the Summer in Ibiza.
